The Case of the Irate Witness, which is unique among Erle Stanley Gardner's fifty-plus books about Perry Mason. It is not a novel, but a collection of four short stories and only one is about the famous defense attorney. In his pre-Mason days Gardner was a massively prolific author of shorts for the pulp magazines, so this was a chance to connect some of them to his most famous creation.
